Everybody loves desserts and that's a fact. But with the growing awareness on healthy eating and living a healthy lifestyle, there leaves no room for the desserts that we are craving for. Could there be a healthy dessert then? Here are great tips to eat desserts and at the same time be fit and healthy:

First, let's try to find out why these sweet cravings are not at all good for you. With the facts and answers at hand, then can you start creating healthy dessert recipes on your own. Obviously, desserts have extremely high contents of saturated fats aside from the trans fats that are just the same unhealthy.

This is actually the reason why they are categorized under the unhealthy food choices.

The bad cholesterol level of a person who eats too much desserts can instantly increase and go up. With the constant intake and the excessive amount of fats in desserts, can only lead to diseases and illnesses that are related to the blood vessel and the heart. With that said, is there even a possibility or a chance that a certain dessert can be done without containing fats? Well, it certainly can be done.

First thing to consider when finding a healthy dessert to make is to find organic and all-natural ingredients. The fresher it is, the better as well. Let's say for example, you will be making a pumpkin pie for dessert. The main ingredients will most definitely be eggs, margarine, flour, sugar and of source the pumpkin that you have to grate. Among the above mentioned ingredients, the most unhealthy is the margarine since it's made out of vegetable oil. As it is processed, it quickly turns into trans fat which is not good for the body. So how can this recipe be turned into something healthier and safer for the body?

All you have to do is take away the margarine and find a better substitute. And the substitute comes in the form of all-organic vegetable oil. Some of the oils you can use are sunflower oil and purified oil and you wouldn't even notice the difference as it tastes like margarine too. The only difference then is that it's healthier.

Sugar is another unhealthy ingredient in all dessert recipes. You not only increase the sugar level in your body but you are at risk at having bad teeth. If not controlled properly, you will then get serious diseases and one of which is diabetes. If that's not enough, you will also gain a lot of weight and in a quick span of time. So cutting down on sugar is a must and find alternative ingredients that can still add sweetness to your dessert but without posing too much harm. Honey is a great substitute.
